Share Africa - AFRICA FASHION UP, the first major Parisian event dedicated to contemporary African fashion, returns this year for an edition marked by boldness and originality, while giving pride of place to responsible and sustainable fashion. The selected winners will have the opportunity to showcase their original creations during Paris Fashion Week at the Musée du Quai Branly - Jacques Chirac. The call for applications is open from February 15 to April 15, 2024.

Africa Fashion Up, a must-see event dedicated to contemporary African fashion and organized by Share Africa, is launching its fourth edition with a call for applications for young African creators, stylists, and designers. Following a selection process supervised by an international jury, the winners, designated as the "Discoveries of the Year," will be invited to Paris. During a week-long immersion, they will participate in masterclasses and visits provided by the program's long-standing official partners, including Balenciaga, HEC Paris, and Galeries Lafayette.

The grand fashion show will be held at the Musée du Quai Branly – Jacques Chirac, in the heart of the City of Light, offering participants the opportunity to showcase their talent, expertise, and commitment to eco-responsible fashion.

Founded in 2020 by Valérie Ka, a French-Ivorian supermodel, Africa Fashion Up is the first Parisian event dedicated to high-end African fashion in France. Its ambition is to promote, showcase, and encourage a booming African fashion industry that blends tradition and modernity, heritage and international openness.

The program focuses on all current fashion practices, from streetwear to haute couture, where all trends are welcome. For Valérie Ka, Founder of Share Africa: "Africa Fashion Up aims to renew perceptions of fashion and Africa, and intends to provide a showcase for young artists from the continent. They embody a creative, dynamic, and responsible industry in Africa, and I am proud to contribute to its expression on the French fashion scene."

These African talents and their creations will be showcased, thanks to comprehensive support, including training and mentoring during their stay in Paris. They will have the opportunity to participate in masterclasses, meet renowned figures in the fashion industry, and benefit from personalized coaching sessions for individualized support.
At the end of this sequence, the winners will be invited to present several pieces from their collection during the grand fashion show organized at the Musée du Quai Branly. The designer whose profile wins over the jury will be awarded the 2024 "Designer Africa Fashion Up" Prize.
