On Friday, September 16, during the 2022 edition of Africa Fashion Up, two designers, Jacques Bam (South Africa) and Muyishime Edi Patrick (Rwanda), were jointly crowned "Designers Africa Fashion Up 2022." Their designs were presented during the fashion show alongside those of the other winners of the 2022 edition: Jean-Cédric Sow (Congo), Mina Binebine (Morocco), and Ibrahim Fernandez (Ivory Coast). Emmanuel Okoro, Designer Africa Fashion Up 2021 (Nigeria), also took part in the show as guest designers. The event took place at the Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild in Paris, with the support of prestigious partners such as Balenciaga, Binance Charity, Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann, Sisley, and HEC Paris, as well as influential media outlets. The winners were rewarded for the quality and originality of their creations, marking a recognition of African creativity in the world of fashion. In addition to four months of personalized support from Balenciaga and a training module delivered by HEC Paris, the winners will also have the opportunity to join the Leridon Collection, showcasing their creations around the world.
