Africa Fashion Up is the first major Parisian event dedicated to contemporary African fashion.
The program is part of SHARE AFRICA, a non-profit organization launched during the African Season under the patronage of the President of the French Republic, whose ambition is to highlight the creativity and dynamism of African youth.
- African design, still relatively unknown to the general public, is gaining momentum and visibility. Its influence is reflected both in the appropriation of its codes by Western brands and in the rise of African labels on the international scene.
- By bringing this creativity together in Paris, Africa Fashion Up becomes a showcase for this bold, colorful, and contemporary new fashion. The event embraces all expressions of fashion, from streetwear to haute couture, from experimental approaches to more modest initiatives.
- Africa Fashion Up highlights young African and diaspora talents who are shaping the 21st century by drawing on their roots. It celebrates the impact of African fashion on other cultural fields (cinema, music, entrepreneurship, etc.), while remaining rooted in history and tradition.
