TRAINING AND SUPPORT 2021

The five young African designers who won the competition were invited to participate in masterclasses and training programs designed to equip them with the tools and knowledge they need to develop and sustain their brands. During their stay in Paris, they enjoyed a day of masterclasses led by Balenciaga, designed to immerse them in the world of fashion and equip them with the essential skills to make their brands thrive.

In addition, the winners had the opportunity to discover the Parisian and international fashion scene through a program of visits.

In addition, Balenciaga has committed to providing each winner with six months of individual support as part of a mentoring program organized in partnership with AFUP. For its part, the renowned HEC business school will provide tailor-made training to each of the winners. Finally, the Jendaya platform has offered the 2021 African Designer of the Year, chosen from among the five winners, the opportunity to sell their collection online for one year, as well as a collaboration with a renowned streetwear brand.
