From his native country to France, where he now lives, Martial Tapolo is an internationally renowned designer who knows how to combine different styles and materials to create designs imbued with elegance, glamour, and diverse forms. He describes fabric as an essential source of beautiful creations because, in his view, each material has its own history, beauty, and style.

He finds magic in any malleable, aesthetic material. But his favorite seems to be silk in its various forms—organdy, taffeta, dupion, brocade, and jacquard—which he mixes as he pleases with raffia, burlap, precious reptilian leathers, and decorative touches of pearls, crystals, semi-precious stones, etc.
