Biography

Pascale Mussard is a prominent figure in the Hermès dynasty. A descendant of Thierry Hermès, founder of the famous French fashion house, she was born in 1957 and spent much of her youth in the brand's workshops. At the beginning of her career, she held various positions within the company, from the export department of a commercial printing company to the position of head buyer of fabrics for women's ready-to-wear at Hermès. She then became press officer, responsible for advertising and public relations, before creating and managing the window display department.

In 2002, her uncle Jean-Louis Dumas, former CEO and artistic director of Hermès, appointed her assistant and deputy artistic director, alongside Pierre-Alexis Dumas. Until the end of her tenure as co-artistic director in 2011, Ms. Mussard was responsible for the house's accessories and leather goods divisions, including the iconic Kelly and Birkin bags. Her contributions were recognized when she was named one of the "Ten Women to Watch in Europe" by the Wall Street Journal in 2008. She lived up to this reputation in 2010, after her uncle's death, by working with her cousin Pierre-Alexis Dumas to ensure the brand's continued success.

She is currently director of Hermès' "Petit h" division, a "lab-workshop" dedicated to increasing recycling and creating new works from discarded materials such as animal skins, leather goods, and various items from the company's production. Pascale Mussard's innovative approach and commitment to sustainable development have cemented her status as a key figure in the Hermès legacy.
