Biography

"The luxury of a shoe may not necessarily be visible, but it can always be felt," says Philippe Zorzetto.

His name sounds Italian, but Philippe Zorzetto is a very French shoemaker who creates shoes with Parisian elegance, revisiting classic styles with a contemporary twist and rock 'n' roll accents. Reviving a family tradition, he has been designing each of his collections since 2006, for both girls and boys, based on lasts that were made by his grandfather.

He opened his first boutique in the heart of the Marais district on Rue Vieille du Temple in Paris's 3rd arrondissement in 2007. He has a very exclusive clientele, some of whom even request delivery to the luxury hotels where they are staying. His world is rich, imbued with cinematic and photographic references that can be found in his shoes. He rewrites the classics that define today's style with freshness and audacity, enriching them with all the expertise of a traditional bootmaker. His prices remain excellent value for money for shoes that are so rare and produced in such small quantities. He regularly collaborates with artists to create capsule collections, as was the case with Matthieu Chedid.

All Philippe Zorzetto collections are stitched onto leather soles (using a single type of stitching, Blake stitching), in keeping with traditional craftsmanship. Each model is enhanced with a cushion that immediately takes the shape of the foot. More than 150 steps are required for each model, which is entirely handmade, and it takes two and a half months to produce a pair of shoes. The leathers are selected from the best French artisans and undergo the highest quality control. Each of the lasts used was passed down to him by his grandfather.
